Save Six Flags Astroworld

The ride was already owned by the city, the land is owned by the city and despite that, it still took 6 years to save
It looks like some pieces are being cut out before the ride gets demolished
As far as the rest of the rides that I know about, here is a partial list
They do allow the public to ride at the Update 1/10/2006 The public Auction was held this past weekend
From what I understand, the high bids went to Scrap Dealers but since the reserve price was not met, the future of these rides is very uncertain
Diablo Falls, Dungeon Drop, Swat, The Kiddy Rides, The Diesel Train, Serial Thriller and Ultratwister are either gone or in the process of being removed to be sent to other Six Flags Parks

EDT (0303 GMT) , California (CNN) -- Amusement park rides can be thrilling, but a recent string of accidents may have many thrillseekers wondering about the risk
This week alone there were four accidents nationwide in which two people were killed and several other riders were injured or left dangling in the air
The latest accident, at Six Flags Marine World, 40 miles northeast of San Francisco, left 28 riders dangling 75 feet in the air, in nearly 100-degree heat, for close to four hours on Wednesday
Just before the ride stopped, witnesses said they saw a long, thick black cable break loose and fly around
'The screams on the roller coaster changed from fun screams to 'Oh my God we're gonna die' screams of terror, and the whole ride just stopped all of a sudden
Five riders were treated at an area hospital for heat exhaustion and released

(Now I'm sure that this was just a way to test the rides to make sure that they didn't kill anyone.) Between conning my dad into taking me and field trips, I probably went to Autoworld around eight or nine times
There were rides that you could take through little corridors full of robotic puppets
It was pretty sad, many of the rides had been removed, or were non-functional and most of the display exhibits were gone
During boring lectures I found my mind wandering to memories of big paper flowers and creepy dark tunneled rides, thinking it was no wonder the place folded
My favorite part of AutoWorld was the rides
At the time I was fascinated by the animatronics, and I would ride them like 6 times in a row to try and see how everything worked
I remember the IMAX theater and the rides on the cars
I really enjoyed the rides
My visits here were probably towards the end of the time here, still I will always remember the little horses who talked to you during the rides, explaining the history and such
I also remember the not quite to par audio-animatronics and dark rides
