  • Good Bye Lenin! Durante una manifestazione, il giovane Alex ( Daniel Brühl ) viene pestato dalla polizia sotto gli occhi della madre ( Katrin Sass ) che colta da infarto, cade in coma

  • Alex e la sorella Ariane ( Maria Simon ) decidono di tenerla all’oscuro di tutto, dannandosi l’anima per ricostruirle su misura la vecchia Repubblica democratica! Seguendo i dettami del tipico racconto di formazione, e avvalendosi della voce off del protagonista, Good Bye Lenin! si apre sull’infanzia di Alex , nel 1978, in piena epoca del “riflusso”, un’epoca in cui, nonostante la “democrazia popolare”, basata sul modello sovietico, sembrasse ancora una realtà longeva nella Germania dell’est, apparivano evidenti i primi sintomi della crisi, dovuta soprattutto alla perdita d’immagine dell’URSS in seguito ai fatti di Praga e, prima ancora, al rapporto Kruscëv

  • La loro creatività tocca cime formidabili nella spiegazione di fenomeni sfuggiti alla pur forsennata “censura” di Alex : il gigantesco pannello della Coca-Cola montato sul palazzo di fronte, o la visione di una statua di Lenin che viene portata via da un elicottero (stessa immagine, ma su un battello, in Lo sguardo di Ulisse di Angelopoulos ), per non dire delle immagini dell’esodo, interpretate in senso opposto come una immigrazione di massa a Berlino est, dove la gente corre in cerca di un mondo dove contano le idee e non il libero mercato!

  • Un modo divertente e velatamente nostalgico di descrivere la nascita di una nuova Germania unita dopo il caduta del muro di Berlino e del leninismo

  • Quando Alex capisce che lo stato di cose fuori dall'ospedale potrebbe essere un trauma per lei ed esserle fatale decide, contro il parere di tutti, di riportarla a casa e di ricreare per lei in una stanza il mondo che aveva lasciato otto mesi prima, quello in cui Lenin aveva trionfato e di cui era il simbolo

  • E' invece comico e coinvolgente questo "Good Bye, Lenin!" che vi conquisterà per la semplicità ma anche per la sua imparzialità visto che è un film che vuole semplicemente 'raccontare' un pezzo di storia ed in alcun modo 'prendere posizione' in merito

  • Good bye Lenin di Wolfang Becker Un tema non nuovo come la caduta del Muro di Berlino trova, nel film di Wolfgang Becker, un'interpretazione leggera e simpatica

  • Ma in "Good Bye Lenin", a differenza del film di Weir, non c'e' una critica al cinismo degli spettatori televisivi e alla spietata avidita' dei mezzi di comunicazione, affamati solo di audience e inserti pubblicitari

  • Pare ci tocchi scomodare un paragone illustre (e forse un po’ imbarazzante) per parlare di Goodbye Lenin, malinconica commedia sulla fine del comunismo, campione d’incassi in una Germania che forse ancora oggi non riesce a dimenticare quella quarantennale lacerazione in cemento che l’ha umiliata, spezzandola e riducendola in due brandelli di stendardi ideologici

  • Berlino diventa un luogo estremamente affascinante, nella sua ibrida natura ben rappresentata dai locali musicalòi semidistrutti che circondano a effetto i sogni e gli smarrimenti dei suoi figli, in cui un campo lungo ritrae il ragazzo e la sua innamorata, una infermiera russa pragmatica.Tra loro anche una bambina, la nipote della protagonista, i cui primi passi spingono la donna ad alzarsi dal letto e a intraprendere una passeggiata sonnambula e un po' onirica tra quelle strade che le sono proibite.Mentre gli occhi della donna convalescente, gelidi e mansueti, si aggirano nel nuovo mondo, la macchina prepara una sovrapposizione di piani esatta in cui ci sembra quasi che la statua di Lenin, il cui busto sradicato viaggia appeso ad un elicottero a bassa quota, tenda la mano nera e granitica alla sua esterrefatta seguace

  • In secondo luogo la colonna sonora di Yann Tiersen appare chiaramente come una sorta di recupero degli scarti dell’ultimo lavoro del maestro francese, Il favoloso mondo di Amelie, da cui estrae interamente uno dei brani principali, mantenendo il tema per tutte le due ore.Malgrado queste lacune però, Good bye, Lenin lancia sinceramente un primo segnale di risveglio per il cinema tedesco, in attesa che produzioni magari più importanti sappiano seguirne la scia
