    Improving my life
Personal development blog based on an acual journey to an improved life.

  • Improving my life Tuesday, September 19, 2006 How to set up a new business Firstly, apologies for my lengthy absence

  • My plan with this blog has always been to a) improve my own life and b) share the things that I am doing to allow others to improve theirs too

  • If you have people that love you in your life, there is no obstacle that cannot be overcome, no problem that is to big, no issue that cannot be resolved

  • posted by newbury at Monday, August 21, 2006 Global Reach Those who have been reading this blog will understand that one of my real aims in life is to reach numerous others around the world and ultimately inspire others to improve their own lives

  • How else would I ever have managed to tell my story to people in every continent? How else would I have managed to spread my word across the whole of the US? And how else would I have found many of the friends and readers that now regularly contact me from some of these countries worldwide? As a result, this blog alone is now helping me to achieve one of my life ambitions, and fills me with pride when I log on to Google Analytics and check my blog's performance

  • If you'd like to help me improve my life, then please tell your friends and relatives about this blog - especially if they live in countries that so far haven't visited me

Diary of an English thirty-something in Paris.

  • 02.08.2006 3:34 pm I am eating a lambs lettuce and Cambozola salad in a discreet restaurant somewhere in Kensington, marvelling at how much a life can change in a very short time

  • 14.07.2006 3:49 pm , I find myself strangely unperturbed that there are no men to speak of in my life at the moment

  • The new apartment symbolises this new phase in my life

  • (Whether I agree, is another thing entirely, I’m not sure I do.) I always imagined single motherhood would be perceived by others as a life filled with constraints

  • I have certainly been experiencing it as a positive phase of my life, but I didn’t think other people would fully understand

  • Welcome to my life..

    "My Life With Crohn's Disease"
The story of a teenager's life with Crohn's Disease. It goes into great detail
from diagnosis at age 13 in 1994 through the present.

  • My Life With Crohn's Disease by So, your interested in who I am and how I was diagnosed with Crohn's Disease

  • Days later, I was released from the hospital with a disease I'd never heard of in my life and a lactose-free diet

  • The initial shock passed, as all things do, and my life returned to a some-what normal state

  • I'm satisfied now if people just accept that I can't have milk products! Life was good until October of 1996 when I unexpectedly collapsed at school (But, then again, does anyone really expect to collapse?)

  • They were the longest of my life

  • I had returned to living life to the fullest potential

  • This trip was the best experience of my life, and I owe it all to Crohn's Disease

  • In June I left my home of 18 years and my part-time job at the local hardware store and left for the next phase in my life

  • While some would argue that all of these rapid changes would be stressful, I found that this summer was the calmest, most exciting time of my life

Rachel's Story: My Life on a Michigan Dairy Farm
A 14-year-old girl shares scenes from her life on the family farm.

  • I want to tell you what life is like living on a dairy farm! On our dairy farm, we milk about 55 cows two times a day -- at 5 o'clock in the morning and 5 o'clock in the evening

  • It's a busy schedule for all of us, but we wouldn't trade farm life for anything! I get to feed the calves! When they are newborns, we feed them right out of a bottle with a formula made especially for calves

  • Makes you thirsty, doesn't it? I hope you have enjoyed reading about what life is like on a dairy farm

  • running my life

  • While rushing Dillon and I out of the house this morning to head to the U-District, I ran around frantically trying to locate my wallet, which contained my entire life, more or less

  • The wallet serves as my personal daily compass through life, containing my palm, license, credit cards and my sanity

  • Such is my life these days, always heading out the door in a frantic search for my keys, glasses, cell phone, wallet, diapers, sippy cup…etc…etc

  • Two weeks ago, I forgot my notebook at a favorite coffee shop and crawled through life for a week before hauling all the way across town to pick it up

  • One day without my wallet and palm and I walked through life in a complete haze

  • I admire those that are able to manage the demanding tasks of both work and life

  • After Dillon was born, I was always looking to get back into some training at our local gym, but could never figure out how to work it into our life well enough to make it worth the effort

  • Compounded by the fact that we are so far removed geographically from all of our family and many of our long-time friends, the decision takes on the added dimention of relocating Dillon from his only home and other arenas of his life

How Lee Stasberg Saved My Life
An article on the Strasberg technique as observed by one of his former students.

  • Darenet #11 May 1, 2000 This week is the 25th anniversary of the United States’ withdrawal from Vietnam, a fitting time to finally reveal the strange and shameful manner in which I avoided the selective service, and… How Lee Strasberg Saved My Life by Michael Dare Part One How I Got Into the Actor's Studio in the First Place 1969 was the worst year in American history to be an 18-year-old male graduating from high school

  • One year later, when the FBI caught up with me for draft dodging, Lee Strasberg's technique would save my life

  • Part Two How Lee Strasberg Actually Saved My Life The first day of class at Lee Strasberg’s Actors Studio was an eye opener

  • Why? Because it doesn’t matter what you’re working on while acting, as long as you’re working on something related to your personal life

  • You’re going to keep a list of these affective memories that you will carry around with you for the rest of your professional life, and whenever a role calls for a particular emotion, you will work on the particular memory that elicits that response

  • Little did he know that his putting the moves on me, combined with Lee Strasberg’s acting technique, would some day save my life

  • Perhaps you listed me along with All Else In My Life That's Wrong: the idling sound that's not quite sound, the ruined roast, the basset hound you wanted but never seemed to get

  • What matters is that she left behind a body of work that teaches us, as Britney Spears once said of literature generally, '[a method subtle and flexible enough to be the same thing as an absence of any method] whatever.' The publication of 'Ballad Of The Love-Scorned Anywoman, ' which gathers for the first time Skurnick's unpublished material, isn't just a significant event in our poetry; it's part of a continuing alteration in the scale of American life

Poets' Corner - Stephen Crane - The Black Riders and Other Lines
Introduction and texts of selected works.

  • Crane's view of life must have been a cynnical one

  • If there is a witness to my little life, To my tiny throes and struggles, He sees a fool; And it is not fine for gods to menace fools

  • Aye; but, beloved, When I strive to come to you, Man's opinions, a thousand thickets, My interwoven existence, My life, Caught in the stubble of the world Like a tender veil -- This stays me

  • At last he cried thus: 'There is nothing -- No life, No joy, No pain -- There is nothing save opinion, And opinion be damned.' I stood musing in a black world, Not knowing where to direct my feet

  • Upon the road of my life, Passed me many fair creatures, Clothed all in white, and radiant

  • There was a man who lived a life of fire

  • Even upon the fabric of time, Where purple becomes orange And orange purple, This life glowed, A dire red stain, indelible; Yet when he was dead, He saw that he had not lived

  • So there were a couple of times where we had to say, “Hey, you know, let’s get down to this and get it over with.” The Righteous Brothers followed “Lovin’ Feelin’” with a string of grandly orchestrated, Spector-produced ballads: “Just Once in My Life” (#9), which Spector cowrote with Garry Goffin and Carole King; “Hung on You, ” cowritten by the same trio; the Hatfield-sung “Unchained Melody” (#4), their 1965 remake of a 1955 movie theme; “Ebb Tide” (#5), a vocal version of what had been an instrumental hit in 1953; and “White Cliffs of Dover, ” their swan song for Spector and Philles

    HOMELESS Gish's Journal
The personal journal of a man who spent 20 years living on the street. Includes
stories and pictures from the past and of his present journey out of ...

  • A year ago I moved into Rebeccas Community 'Hospitality House.' This website chronicles my life journey through foster care, homelessness, drug addiction, prison and my new life off drugs and off the streets

  • The biggest achievement is that I'm still here, still trying and still willing to push myself in changing my life

  • The other significant achievement in my life is that I have made a few friends so I no longer feel as isolated as I once did

  • I am learning that asking questions and talking with people about their methods is a very helpful way of learning about the differences that separate me and my old life and me and my new life that I am building

  • Timing has become the biggest contributing factor in all my life altering decisions, am I ready, does it need to be done right now or can it wait, how important is success or failure, these are the things I place the most importance on now, not what I am doing

  • I feel that considering the amount of time I spent on the street what possible difference is a couple of months going to make in the grand scheme of my life and where I want to be say in five years time
