About of FALLEN ARCH
Hawaii Tropical Botanical Garden
Description and history of the founding of the gardens.
This is the 'hot spot' that has created the entire Hawaiian archipelago
The most notable work of the elements was Onomea Arch, carved from the cliffs by restless waterpower
A famous landmark, the arch attracted visitors to Onomea Bay long before the Garden was established
Onomea Arch fell during an earthquake in 1956 after standing for thousands of years
Today the fallen arch appears as a wide crevice in the cliff on the north side of Onomea Bay, but this favorite Hilo landmark is preserved in antique postcards which recall its glory from the turn of the century
Low-growing taro plants can also be seen, carryovers from village life at the turn of the century when starchy poi, made from taro roots, was a staple of the Hawaiian diet

BOFFS - Flat Feet
Information from the British Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Society.
Public Section Flat Feet Flat feet Some questions answered What are flat feet? Most people's feet have a space on the inner side where the bottom of the foot is off the ground (the "arch" of the foot)
The height of this arch varies a lot from one person to another
Small children do not have an arch: it develops between the ages of 3 and 10
People who have a low arch, or no arch at all are said to have flat feet
Sometimes they are said to have "fallen arches", but as most of these people always had a low arch the term is misleading
This is the usual reason why children have no arch in their feet: children tend to have looser joints than adults
As they get older their joints tighten up and, in most children, an arch appears
If this causes the arch to appear, the foot is flexible and probably basically normal
What trouble do flat feet cause? Usually none! Some people with flat feet get aching in the arch, around the ankle or down the outer side of the foot, but all these can occur in people with "normal" arches too

eMedicine - Pes Planus : Article by Gregory Berlet, MD, FRCSC
Information from eMedicine focusing on orthopedic aspects.
Instead, a mismatch between active and passive arch stabilizers is a more likely scenario (see )
Newer research has focused more on the static restraints of the medial longitudinal arch
The spring ligament, the plantar fascia, and the deltoid ligament may contribute to the development of a fallen medial longitudinal arch (Deland, 2001)
A widely accepted classification system, proposed by Johnson in 1989, clarified treatment recommendations based on the severity of the PTT dysfunction and adaptation of the foot to collapse of the medial longitudinal arch
A clear understanding of the normal function of the PTT and the static restraints of the medial longitudinal arch is essential to understanding the operative and nonoperative treatment options
Ruptures of either the spring ligament or the plantar fascia (traumatic and iatrogenic) have been reported to lead to progressive collapse of the medial longitudinal arch
Considerable controversy exists regarding the timing of failure of the static and active supports of the medial longitudinal arch
Most orthopedic surgeons support the concept that the primary mode of failure is the loss of dynamic arch support followed by a tension failure of the static restraints

Satan at that time being one of the highest archangels found this too humbling by far and refused to debase himself in this manner and duly asked if "a son of fire should be forced to bow before a son of clay?"
Obviously, if Satan was confined to the pits of Gehanna, such an audience would not be possible, and it is doubtful that the arch-fiend would be strolling through the house of God unmolested

Flat Feet in Children -- familydoctor.org

> > > > Flat Feet Flat Feet Flat Feet in Children What are flat feet? Flat feet is a condition in which the foot doesn't have a normal arch
At first, all babies' feet look flat because an arch hasn't formed yet
Arches should form by the time your child is 2 or 3 years old
These conditions make the arch fall when your child stands up
This is why you sometimes hear flat feet called 'fallen arches.' The feet may look like they have arches when your child is sitting or when the big toe is bent backward, but the arch flattens when the child puts weight on the foot
Flat feet in an older child may cause pain in the heel or arch, or may cause pain when the child is walking and running
Your child's foot development will be the same whether arch supports are worn or not

Elfenwizards
Game Cabinet review by Mike Siggins.
The Arch Wizard is at the top, then there are two Wizards, four Necromancers and so on, fanning out right down to the base of the tree where the bottom feeders dwell
However, and this is important, if a single player manages to elect two Arch Wizards, or 'wave twice' in Kremlin terms, the game ends there and then but, the winner is still the one with the most points overall
This then is the core of the game and, fittingly, is based on major and minor spells such as 'Increase Ego', 'Bigby's Den of Corruption' and 'Shag Research Assistant'
This starts at the top, usually but not always producing an Arch Wizard, and of course a crestfallen loser
Points are scored at the end of each turn for every wizard on the board based on the present positions, the Arch Wizard then retires, and it all starts over
I don't know why really, perhaps the mechanisms are a little basic, perhaps the theme doesn't convince you that being Arch Wizard is worth pursuing, perhaps it is just that you score points and have to write them down, rather than being given something magical (like a little wooden scroll), in keeping with the theme

Search: The Web Tripod « | » Pyramids Schmeramids: Why the Pyramids of Egypt and Mesoamerica Do Not Share a Common Source by Chris Loethen Introduction Separated by the Atlantic Ocean and two thousand years, the pyramids of Egypt and Mexico call out to the imagination
Rather, the question is whether they moved each other, or failing that, did they dip their buckets into some common well of knowledge like that of Atlantis? Of course there are seeming similarities between the artifacts and architecture of these geographically and temporally distant societies
So when were the pyramids of Egypt built? Though there is always division regarding exact dates when dealing with archaeological sites, all legitimate archaeologists agree that pyramid construction in Egypt began and ended almost exclusively with the Old Kingdom, which, using liberal dates, puts the construction of the Egyptian pyramids sometime between 2700 to 2100 bc
The Arch Related to the manner of construction is the issue of the arch
Donnelly and Van Daniken) sometimes argue that the presence of the arch in both Old and New World construction is proof of a common source of knowledge

Origen: the Final Restoration
Origen's doctrine of universal salvation stated in his treatise "De Principiis"
is examined and unreservedly condemned as heretical.
Crouzel to make the rather overwhelming observation: ‘One of the main difficulties in studying Origen [is] the necessity of examining all the works that we possess before asserting anything at all about him.’ We must admit the bias which such a realisation will bring out in this paper, for the restraints of time have bound me primarily to the text of De Principiis (‘Peri Archôn’), Origen’s most speculative work
Yet even this did not fully comply with Origen’s overarching theme of the ultimate benevolence and love of God; for even though this system took the ‘blame’ for human misery away from God, it nonetheless admitted the ongoing reality of that misery as the result of His chastisement
Few Christian writers of the first centuries AD have generated the lasting debate and controversy that Origen managed; culminating in two ‘Origenist Crises, ’ the exile of an archbishop, and the condemnation of a council
The depth of the controversy itself is beyond the scope of this short paper, as we are concerned primarily with the question of its outcome: ought Origen’s doctrine of the apokatastasis have been condemned as heretical, as it was at the Fifth Ecumenical Council? In the examination of this question I will focus on two primary themes, both of which have been hinted at above: firstly, the social climate of the era in which Origen lived and wrote; and secondly, the nature of Origen’s writings as comprising a ‘research theology.’ (a) The Social Climate of the Day – It is only with some hesitation that I raise the issue of the social climate in which Origen wrote, for one who contrives heresy in a difficult social climate, still contrives heresy
